Summer vacation is over?! But we haven’t finished our summer read-alouds.
When the lazy days of summer stretched out before us, we thought nothing of starting another book. All of a sudden, we’re back to our busy fall schedule of school, sports, and other activities. And I’m in the middle of three books with Larrabee (A Wizard of Earthsea, The One and Only Ivan, and The Hobbit) and two with Blaine (The Crimson Skew and The Crossover)!
Somehow the boys always seem to keep all these stories straight, though (better than I do). Hopefully, as the days get shorter, we’ll find a cozy evening to stay inside and catch up on our reading.

He does a better job than I would too! I have to read one book at a time.
I know! I need him to remind me where we are when we read together. And he probably has three more books that he’s reading on his own now — one for his desk at school, one for the car, and one for bedtime.
